Description
Nos 30 and 31 Pinfold Gate are a pair of early 19th-century houses with workshops above, constructed from red brick and topped with slate roofs and brick end stacks. They rise three storeys high. The ground and first floor of No 30 function as a single fronted cottage, featuring an original simple doorcase and cambered-headed three-light horizontally-sliding sash windows. In contrast, No 31 has 20th-century doors and a shop front on the ground floor, with a renewed first-floor window. The second-floor workshops are illuminated by four three-light cambered-headed windows, while No 30 retains its horizontally-sliding sash windows with glazing bars. The rear elevation of the second floor has four two-light windows, with No 30 again keeping its horizontally-sliding sashes with glazing bars, all linked by a wooden lintel that suggests the potential for additional windows.
