Description
Nos 58 and 60 on Potter Street are a pair of houses dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. They are constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings and feature slate roofs with brick gable stacks and a dentilled eaves band. Each house has three storeys and a single bay.
No 58, located to the west, has a 20th-century half-glazed door with a small paned overlight to the east and a glazing bar sash window to the west. Above this, there is a similar window, and above that, a smaller version of the same window.
No 60 features a late 19th-century shop front with central, recessed, glazed doors beneath a plain overlight, flanked by canted single pane windows. This is set in a pilastered surround topped with a moulded cornice. Above, there is a glazing bar sash window, followed by a smaller similar window. All openings on both houses have rusticated wedge lintels with keystones. The buildings are included for their group value only.
