Description

56 Potter Street is a house dating from the 16th century, which was restored in the 20th century. It has a square timber-frame construction, resting on a stone plinth, with corner braces near the top and painted brick infill. The roof is thatched, with a brick ridge stack located towards the eastern end. The house is single-storey with an attic and features two bays. The front of the building has a plank door on the east side, a two-light horizontal sliding sash window with glazing bars in the centre, and a small fixed pane window to the west. Above, there are two eyebrow dormers, each with a two-light casement window with glazing bars. The rear elevation is similar to the front. The interior retains features such as chamfered beams and a winder staircase.
