Description

This milepost, dating from the mid-19th century, is located on the east corner of the junction with Church Hill. It is made of sandstone and has a rectangular shape, standing approximately half a metre high with a segmentally-rounded top. The inscriptions on the milepost indicate the distances to various locations: on the right-hand side, it reads "ADEL SCHOOL 2.6", "BRAMHOPE CROSS 1", "HEADINGLEY CHURCH 3.4", "COOKRIDGE HALL 1.6", "WOODHOUSE MOOR 6", "LEEDS BRIDGE 8", and "STATION 3.1".
