Description
This is a mid-19th century milepost located on the south-west corner of the junction with Pool Bank New Road. It is made of sandstone and has a rectangular shape, standing approximately half a metre high with a segmentally-rounded top. The face of the milepost features inscriptions indicating distances to various locations: Otley Church 2.7 miles, Burley Church 6 miles, Ilkley Church 9 miles, Addingham Church 12 miles, Bolton Bridge 15 miles, Bramhope Church 0.5 miles, Adel School 3.3 miles, Headingley Church 6.1 miles, Woodhouse Moor 6.6 miles, and Leeds Bridge 8.5 miles.
