Description
Former toll house, now a shop. Constructed around 1780 and altered in the 20th century, it originally served the Leeds to Skipton Turnpike. The building is of coursed dressed stone with a slate hipped roof. It is a single storey in height. The west front features a single sash window with glazing bars to the left, and a 20th-century glazed door to the right. The lintel above the door is large and painted, extending to cover a blocked window on its left. The canted south front has a central blind front with flanking sides, each containing a 20th-century casement window. A single-storey lean-to addition is located at the rear.
