Description
The gazebo located in the north-west corner of the garden of Westwood is an 18th-century structure built from sandstone ashlar. It features a circular plan and is designed in a classical style over two storeys. The north side, which overlooks Wharfedale, has an open three-bay colonnade supported by columns and antae that have simple moulded caps. Above this colonnade on the first floor, there is a matching glazed colonnade with curved 12-pane sash windows. The structure is topped with a dentilled cornice and a domical roof that has a ball finial. On the south-west side, which is the rear, there is a first-floor doorway with a Gibbs surround, except for a plain lintel, which is accessed by restored external steps.
