Description

This is an 18th-century milepost located in the garden of Lane Ends, on the west side of the junction with Bayton Lane. It is made of sandstone and stands approximately one metre high. The square post features inscribed pointing hands at the top of all four sides, with the following lettering: "to Otley (east side) M 3," "to Bradford (north side) M 4," "Horsforth WR: 17" (which is partially erased on the west side), and "To Leeds (south side) M 4."
