Description

This is a milepost from the 18th century located to the west of the junction with the lane that runs behind the churchyard. It is a monolith with a rounded top. The face of the milepost is inscribed with "To Elland 4 m," accompanied by a hand pointing left, and "To Sowerby 1 m," with a hand pointing right. It is set against the wall of St George's churchyard.
