Description
The stable block, now used as an office and store, dates from the late 18th century but incorporates a datestone from 1707. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a stone slate roof and has a rectangular plan. The building is two storeys high and features eight bays. There is a low plinth, with an altered opening in the center. The left side has tall doorways, with the first and third having cornices, while the fourth has been altered into a window. On the right side, there is a corniced window, an inserted doorway, and two additional doorways, the last of which is also corniced. The first floor has square windows, except for the seventh bay, which has a loading door that has been altered into a window. All openings have raised plain surrounds. In the center of the first floor, there is a square wall sundial, which is missing its gnomon. The roof is hipped. The right-hand return wall features a square window at ground floor level and a carved datestone at the first floor with the raised date "1707," flanked by carved flowers, both with raised plain surrounds. There are small later additions at both ends that are not included in the listing, and the interior has been altered.
