Description

These are three mid-19th century terraced houses located in Swallow Lane, Golcar. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a pitched stone slate roof and coped gables. Moulded stone brackets support the gutter, which sits below a string course. The south-west elevation has three entrances, each with a stone surround and tie-stones. It also features three four-light stone mullioned windows on the ground floor, and six three-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor; these were possibly originally three seven-light windows. The north-east elevation has a later doorway on the ground floor, along with three four-light stone mullioned windows. Number 28 has a modern bow window replacing the original mullions, and number 30 has had both mullions removed. The first floor of the north-east elevation also has six three-light stone mullioned windows, which may have previously been three seven-light windows.
