Description
No 1 Cliffe Ash is a mid-19th century building constructed from hammer dressed stone, featuring a pitched stone slate roof with a coped east gable and stone brackets supporting the gutter. The building has two storeys and a basement.
On the south elevation, there is a basement with a four-light stone mullioned window that has glazing bars. The ground floor includes a loading door with a ramped stone entrance and iron railings, along with two additional four-light stone mullioned windows. The first floor features a prominent 16-light stone mullioned window, and there is a continuous sill band running along the elevation.
The north elevation also has a basement with two windows that have stone surrounds. The ground floor contains a 16-light stone mullioned window, although only eight of the lights are open; the rest are blocked, and some of the mullions have been removed. This elevation also has a continuous sill band.
