Description

Nos 4 and 6 on West End Road are early to mid 19th century weavers' houses, designed as an identical pair. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched stone slate roof with a coped gable on the east side and stone brackets supporting the gutter. The south elevation has two storeys, with the ground floor showcasing two 4-light stone mullioned windows and two 3-light stone mullioned windows, along with a central door for each house. The first and second floors each contain one 11-light stone mullioned window for each house. On the north elevation, the ground floor has four 2-light stone mullioned windows, while the first floor features two loading doors that have been converted into windows, along with three 4-light stone mullioned windows.
