Description

Whirlow Farmhouse is a farmhouse with adjoining outbuildings, now serving as a house. It dates from the late 18th century, with early 19th-century additions and late 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features stone slate roofs. It has two gable stacks and is two storeys high, presenting a three-window range of wooden cross casements. The central glazed door is flanked by single wooden cross casements.

On the right gable, there is a single window, along with a lean-to porch that has a slate roof and a close boarded door, which is flanked to the right by a two-light window. To its right, there is another single window. To the left, there is a two-storey early 19th-century wing that includes a gable stack and a three-light wood mullioned window on each floor. The right side features a two-storey former outbuilding with three windows. Below, to the right, there is a late 20th-century lean-to porch, which is flanked to the left by three windows and to the right by a single window. The interior has not been inspected.
