Description

Can Court is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed, dressed stone with alternating flush quoins, and has a stone slate roof with stone end stacks, featuring an offset and moulded cornice. The building comprises a single front range with two parallel rear ranges, with a 20th-century addition to the longer, left-hand rear range. The farmhouse is mostly two storeys high with an attic. It has three windows, each with 3/2/3-light stone mullions and metal casements in flush surrounds; the ground floor features similar 3-light windows flanking a central wide gabled porch, likely of the early 20th century. The porch has a square hoodmould above the entrance, and a glazed inner door within a chamfered and stopped stone surround. Three gabled dormers are present, each with twin casements. Most of the windows are 20th-century casements, with concrete lintels to the returns. A lateral external stack is located on the right-hand side of the building.
