Description

Can Court Cottage is a large, semi-detached cottage dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof in two levels and stone end stacks marking the junction of the two sections. Originally, the building comprised a single range with two storeys to the right and a single storey to the left, although the left-hand side has subsequently been raised above the right. The right-hand section features a centrally positioned recessed plank door flanked by two small windows with timber lintels. Above the door, a round window has been inserted on the first floor. To the left, a blind wall extends except for a small single light window. A 20th-century oriel window with a boarded base is set into the left-hand return. A stone ledge projects from the front corner on the right, approximately at the original roof level of the left-hand section.
