Description
Housebrough is a farmhouse, now divided into two dwellings, with an attached outbuilding. It dates from the mid-18th century, with the outbuilding added in the 19th century. The structure is built of coursed squared stone and has a pantile roof.
The house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay facade. It features quoins and a central 20th-century part-glazed door, flanked by three-light side-sliding sash windows. Above, there are three similar two-light windows, with the central one being narrower. The ground-floor openings have stone lintels, and all windows have projecting stone cills. The building has ashlar coping and end stacks, with the right stack being rebuilt in brick.
On the left side, there is an outshut that includes a boarded stable door to the right of a slatted window opening, with a stack at the left end. At the rear, the wing has a gable stack, which has also been rebuilt in brick, and features herringbone-tooled ashlar dressings at the gable. A brick outshut has been added to the end of the wing, but it is not of special interest.
