Description

This is a mid-19th century house located on Holgate Road, York. It is built of brick with painted stone dressings and has a slate roof. The house is two storeys plus an attic, with two bays arranged with the gable facing forward. A timber-sashed canted bay window is set at the left-hand ground floor corner, featuring colonnettes and a lead roof. First-floor windows are glazing bar sashes with brick flat arches and a sill band. A single sashed attic window is set within a segmental brick arch. A pilaster doorcase with a raised segmental arch and cornice is located on the right-hand side, housing a 20th-century partly-glazed door and a segmental overlight. The roof has overhanging verges supported on projecting purlins. A ridge chimney is also present. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for group value as an integral part of Holgate Road.
