Description

This is a house and shop dating from around 1840. It is constructed of brick with a hipped slate roof. The main facade, facing Lowther Terrace, has three bays with windows featuring glazing bars and flat brick arches above. The central bay has a simple timber doorcase with console brackets and fielded panel reveals. The door itself has four raised and fielded panels, and the overlight contains margin panes. A plastic gutter is supported by rectangular timber brackets. Chimneys are located in front of the roof ridge to the right of the first bay and at the right end. The return wall on the left-hand side, facing Holgate Road, has a shopfront dating from around 1900, with 20th-century alterations. The shop window projects forward under a cornice, and a doorway is set diagonally to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
