Description

A pair of houses built in 1821 by Joseph Bullock, a local brickmaker. The houses are constructed of brick with a slate roof. They are three storeys high plus an attic, with a three-bay facade. The outer bays on the ground and first floors feature tripartite bowed sash windows with glazing bars. Other windows are glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick flat arches. A flat-roofed attic dormer is situated towards the right. The paired doorways are shared within a doorcase, which includes engaged Doric columns, a triglyph frieze, a mutuled cornice, and panelled reveals. The doors themselves have six raised and fielded panels, and an overlight with margin panes and diagonal glazing bars. A doorway to the left is part of the adjacent property at No. 96 The Mount. A modillion gutter cornice runs along the top of the building, and chimneys are located on the left-hand gable, both in front of the ridge and shared at the right. The interior has not been inspected.
