Description
96 and 98 The Mount are two houses built around 1830. They are constructed of brick and feature a pantiled roof. The buildings stand three storeys tall, with each house having one bay. The windows are sash style without glazing bars and have segmental heads. The doorway to No. 98, located on the left, has a reeded pilaster doorcase with corner bosses and a reeded frieze. The door itself has six raised and fielded panels, along with an overlight that includes margin panes and diagonal glazing bars. No. 96 has a similar doorway on the right, which is built into the corner of No. 94, whose upper storeys extend over it. Between the bays, there is a lead rainwater hopper and downpipe, as well as a ridge chimney. The interior has not been inspected.
