Description

This is a house and shop dating to around 1845, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The facade features a decorative cornice with modillion detailing. The windows on the first floor are glazing bar sashes. The middle bay is set back slightly. On the ground floor, the left-hand bay contains a slightly bowed glazing bar sash window with a panelled frieze and a plain cornice. The central and right-hand bays contain a shop window divided by pilasters, with a timber fascia and cornice that extends above doorcases on either side. The original left-hand doorway has a door with six raised and fielded panels, an overlight, and a triglyph frieze. A 20th-century flat-roofed dormer containing two glazing bar sash windows is located above the right-hand bay. The interior was not inspected. The building has group value.
