Description
56 and 58 Lord Mayor's Walk are a mirrored pair of houses built around 1845-1850. They are constructed of brick with painted stone and timber dressings, topped with a slate roof. The buildings rise three storeys plus an attic and cellars, with each house featuring two bays. The upper storey windows are glazing bar sashes set beneath brick flat arches. On the ground floor, there are white-painted canted bay windows on brick bases, which include cellar windows. Each house has two flat-roofed dormers. The central doorcases are paired and feature Ionic pilasters with acanthus necking and a cornice adorned with egg-and-dart moulding. The recessed four-panel doors have overlights above them. Gable chimneys are present on both houses. The interior has not been inspected.
