Description

This is a two-storey house, likely built around 1700, and subsequently altered in the late 18th century and late 19th century. It is now used as a shop and flat. The exterior is painted brick with a pantiled roof hidden behind a parapet. The front has one bay; the first floor window has paired sash windows without glazing bars. A shopfront dating to around 1900 occupies the ground floor, featuring two glazed doors, a central shop window, and four fluted pilasters with brackets. A brick string course runs beneath the parapet. A lead rainwater downpipe with a hopper dated '1770' is located on the left-hand side. According to historical records, the original house was a small two-storey dwelling with two rooms on each floor and a small staircase projection. In the late 18th century, rooms were added to the rear, extending under a second roof span, which was later incorporated into a single roof. The interior has not been inspected.
