Description

This is a house dating from approximately 1845 to 1850. It is constructed of brick with painted stone or stucco dressings, and has a slate roof. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and has one bay. The windows are glazing bar sashes with painted, rusticated lintels. A small attic dormer is present, featuring a pitched roof and bargeboards. A pilaster doorcase frames a 20th-century door on the right side. A shared chimney is located to the left, in front of the ridge. The interior remains uninspected.

A low brick wall with a stone coping supports iron railings in front of the house. A gate is positioned to the right, featuring iron gateposts topped with ball finials. To the left, the wall and railings return to enclose two sides of the front garden and adjoin the front wall of the house. The property is included on the list for its group value as an integral part of Holgate Road.
