Description
Bridge House is a house located on Lambseth Street, dating from around 1845. It is constructed of painted brick and features slate roofs. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with a central bay that projects. The entrance consists of a four-panelled central door with an overlight, framed by a doorcase that includes two engaged and fluted columns rising to block entablatures with metopes, a plain frieze, and a hood.
On either side of the door, there are late 20th-century top-hung casements with glazing bars set in a raised surround. Above the door, there is a two-light casement, and on either side, there is a 6/6 unhorned sash window. The roof is hipped, and there are two rendered stacks on the rear slope of the roof. At the back, there is a two-storey cross wing with one 8/8 unhorned sash window on each floor and a rendered stack.
Inside, the house features a stick-baluster staircase with a ramped handrail. Three bedrooms include fireplaces with mid-19th century cast-iron grates.
