Description
Dormer Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later alterations. It features a rendered and colourwashed timber frame, with a plaintiled roof at the front and a pantiled roof at the rear. The building has a lobby entrance plan and consists of one storey with a dormer attic. The façade includes a five-window range of two-light late 19th-century casements, although the window furthest to the north belongs to the adjacent house, No. 42. There is a 20th-century door located to the right of centre, which is sheltered by a 20th-century pentice roof. The gabled roof is adorned with four gabled dormers, each fitted with a two-light casement. A ridge stack is positioned above the door. Inside, the timber frame is made of thin scantling, and the north room features irregular chamfered bridging beams.
