Description
Number 18 is a house built around 1860, featuring brick construction with painted stone or stucco dressings and a slate roof. The building has three storeys plus an attic and is arranged in three bays. The outer bays are highlighted by two-storey canted bay windows that have painted mullions and cornices. On the ground floor, these bays contain glazing bar sash windows, while the first floor has sash windows. A sill band runs along the first floor. The second floor windows, along with the central window on the first floor, are also glazing bar sashes. The attic is illuminated by two flat-roofed dormers.
The single-storey porch has canted sides made of exposed brick, with paired pilasters that support a plain entablature featuring a cornice and blocking course. The entrance door consists of six panels. The boxed timber gutter, which appears to have been replaced in the 20th century, is supported by shaped brackets, and there are chimneys on both the left and right sides of the building.
The front garden is enclosed by brick walls topped with stone copings. In line with the central doorway, there is an iron gate flanked by cast-iron gateposts. The interior has not been inspected.
