Description

These are two houses located on St Paul’s Square, built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick with painted stone dressings and have slate roofs. Each house is two stories high, with cellars beneath. Each house has two bays. The ground floor features a canted bay window on the right side, with a modillioned cornice and a stone base that incorporates a cellar window. The first floor windows have a sill band and are sash windows with square-paned glazing. The doorways, situated on the left side of each house, have doorcases with panelled pilasters, panelled reveals, modillioned cornices, and four-panel doors with overlights divided into two square panes. Number 39 has a boxed timber gutter supported by square brackets, while Number 38 has a plastic gutter. Chimneys are located in front of the ridge to the right of each house. The interiors have not been inspected.
