Description

Three houses were built around 1860. They are constructed of brick with painted stone dressings, and have slate roofs. Each house has one bay, with three-storey elevation to St Paul’s Square. The windows are sash windows with horizontal-rectangular panes. Doorways are located to the right of each house, with doorcases featuring pilasters with sunken panels, four-panel doors, and overlights. Number 1 has a return gable wall of three storeys and three bays facing Watson Terrace. This return wall includes painted recesses intended to resemble windows with glazing bars, except for a sash window with rectangular panes on the ground floor, and a sash window with glazing bars at first floor level. The Watson Terrace facade also includes a doorcase with panelled pilasters, an overlight, and a four-panel door. The interiors were not inspected. The front garden walls are brick with stone and artificial stone copings. Each garden has a gate of cast iron with cast-iron gateposts. Railings with cast finials are present along the wall to Number 3. The front wall returns to separate the gardens of Numbers 3 and 4, and there is evidence of rebuilding on the south return wall. The garden gate to Number 1 is positioned between the wall and the Watson Terrace facade.
