Description

Numbers 15, 16, and 17 are a terrace of three houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick with painted stone dressings and feature a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high, with attics and cellars, and each house has two bays. The windows are sash style; those in Nos 15 and 17 have four panes with glazing bars, while No. 16 has two-pane windows. Each house includes a canted bay window on the ground floor, topped with a modillion cornice and a brick base that has a casement cellar window. The first-floor windows are set above a sill band. No. 17 features an attic dormer.

Nos 16 and 17 have doorways in their right-hand bays, each framed by pilaster doorcases with modillioned cornices, leading to four-panel doors and overlights. The overlight of No. 17 includes margin panes. The guttering is supported by rectangular timber brackets, and there are chimneys located on the left side and between the houses at the front of the ridge.

The right-hand return wall of No. 15 has four bays and is designed similarly to the front, featuring a single-storey canted bay window with a modillioned cornice in its third bay, and a doorcase with a four-panel door in its second bay. The attic is illuminated by a shallow flat-roofed 20th-century dormer, with a chimney on the right.

The garden front wall is made of brick with stone and artificial stone copings. The wall for No. 15 is adorned with iron railings topped with cast finials and ends at the east with an iron gate and cast-iron gateposts. No. 16 has a similar gate and restored railings, while No. 17 features a low iron gate and gateposts, with a wall and coping that does not have railings and returns at the north-west end to separate the gardens of Nos 17 and 18.
