Description
Number 2 is a house built in 1827-1828, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of roughcast brick and has a slate roof. The building has two storeys above a basement and features one bay. The basement window is a glazing bar sash, while the ground-floor window is similar but has a segmental head. The first-floor window is a 20th-century casement. The doorway, located on the left side, is accessed by a flight of five external steps with nosings. The doorcase includes engaged fluted columns, a frieze with triglyphs, a mutule cornice, and a fanlight. The door itself has six raised and fielded panels. There are shared ridge chimneys on both the left and right sides of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
The front garden is enclosed by low brick walls topped with stone copings and iron railings that feature onion finials. The front wall also includes an iron gate with turned cast-iron gateposts, which have ball and pedestal finials.
