Description

Two houses, numbers 3 and 4 Mount Terrace, were built between 1827 and 1828. They are constructed of brick with a slate roof. Each house is two storeys high with a basement, and contains two bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes, including those in the basement, with segmental heads on the ground floor. A sill band runs above the first-floor windows. Doorways are located on the left side of each house, accessed by external stone steps leading to doorcases featuring engaged fluted columns, friezes with triglyphs, and mutuled cornices. The doors themselves have six raised and fielded panels, each with a plain semicircular overlight above. Rectangular timber brackets support the gutters. Ridge chimneys are located to the left of each house, with axial stacks behind the ridge. The interior was not inspected.
