Description

Two shops and flats, dating from 1846. The building is constructed of brick with a pantiled roof. It is three storeys high and comprises five bays. The bays are divided by recessed vertical strips which rise through the first and second floors, creating alternating wide and narrow panels. The narrower panels (bays 2 and 4) have no windows on the second floor, and contain ground-floor doorways. The wider panels have ground-floor shopfronts, except at the right-hand end, which features a carriage entrance with a lintel. The windows are glazing bar sash windows with brick flat arches. A continuous cornice runs above the shopfronts and doorways. The shopfronts are divided by pilasters which support round-topped brackets. The doorways have round-headed painted moulded surrounds, with each door having two panels. Above the right-hand doorway is a plain semicircular overlight. A bracketed timber gutter runs along the roof line, and ridge chimneys are located at the right-hand end and on either side of the second bay. The interior was not inspected.
