Description
1 and 3 Goodramgate are three houses with shops that date from the late 19th century. They are built of orange-grey brick in Flemish bond at the front and English garden-wall bond at the sides, with orange brick dressings. The buildings feature a timber shopfront and a cream brick eaves frieze with raised panels of orange brick, topped by a moulded cornice supported by paired grooved consoles. The roof is slate, hipped on the left side, and has brick stacks.
The exterior has a three-storey front with six windows. The shopfronts are framed by plain pilasters with carved imposts, a frieze, and a modillion cornice. The windows are made of plate glass set over moulded panel risers, and there are glazed doors, with one original door still intact, featuring a moulded panel below. The first and second floor windows are segment-headed 4-pane sashes beneath gauged brick arches with stone keyblocks. The first floor windows have painted stone sills, while the second floor windows are shorter and have a painted stone sill band. The interior has not been inspected.
