Description
1 and 2 Monk Bar Court are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, with origins in the 18th century. The ground floor is constructed of orange-red brick in English garden-wall bond, while the upper storeys are made of orange-grey brick in the same bond. The rear features orange brick in a random bond, and the building has a pantile roof with a brick chimney stack.
The exterior presents a three-storey, two-window front. The ground floor is partially obscured, but each cottage has a 12-pane sash window to the left of the door, all featuring cambered arches made of orange brick. The first floor has similar windows with painted stone sills, and the second floor includes two Yorkshire sashes, each with six panes, also with painted stone sills. At the rear, there are two boarded-up windows. The interior has not been inspected.
