Description

A pair of houses, numbers 5 and 7 Ogleforth, dating to around 1840, with earlier origins and renovated around 1985. The front elevation is of orange-grey mottled brick in a Flemish bond pattern, while the rear incorporates random orange brickwork. Stuccoed window lintels and timber guttering are present, along with a tiled roof at the front and pantiles at the rear, and brick stacks.

The two--storey, four-window front features a carriage arch and two doorcases, both with reeded jambs. The arch has a frieze with a grooved keyblock, and the doorcases have beaded friezes beneath flat cornice hoods supported by reeded consoles. All windows are 12-pane sashes with painted sills and channelled wedge lintels with grooved keyblocks. Moulded eaves guttering is situated atop paired modillions. The interior of the houses was not inspected.
