Description

This building, located at 57 Botanic Road in Southport, is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and has been altered over time. It features white painted render and a slate roof. The structure is L-shaped, consisting of a single-depth double-fronted main range with a two-storey outshut to the right, which has a carried-down roof, and a single-storey lean-to in the corner where the two sections meet.

The exterior of the house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical appearance with a two-window range. On the ground floor, there is a square-headed doorway that is offset to the right, featuring a board door and a wedge lintel. This doorway is flanked by unhorned 6/6 sash windows with exposed boxes. The first floor has windows that have altered glazing. The building has gable chimneys.

On the right-hand return wall, there is a large 16-pane fixed window located near the front corner, along with a two-light sliding sash window on each floor of the outshut. Both of these windows have glazing bars, with the upper window being much smaller.

The house forms part of a group with Nos 53 and 55 adjoining to the left, as well as Nos 68-86 located opposite.
