Description

Rose Cottage is a house located on Shellfield Road in Southport, likely built in the late 18th century. It has been altered and extended at the rear in the late 20th century. The exterior features white painted render, probably over brick, and a slate roof. The house has a very small single-depth, two-unit plan and is a single storey with a two-window range. The windows are 20th-century three-light casements, and there is an extruded gable chimney on the left side. The interior has not been inspected. Rose Cottage forms a group particularly with No. 54 to the right and is generally part of a group of similar houses on this road, all of which have been variously altered but represent the pre-industrial character of the area.
