Description
This is a row of three houses located at 57, 59, and 61 Shellfield Road, dated 1811, although they have been altered over time. The exterior features white painted render, likely over brick, and a slate roof. The houses are two storeys high and have a three-window range. The doorways for Nos. 57 and 59 are on the left, while No. 61's doorway is on the right; all doorways are square-headed with renewed board doors.
No. 57 has a renewed three-light casement window on each floor. No. 59 features a 20th-century bow window at ground floor level, and No. 61 has a two-light casement window at ground floor, with each house having a two-light casement window at first floor. Notably, No. 59 has a small shouldered datestone at first floor level inscribed with "H / RA / 1811". There are gable chimneys and a ridge chimney located at the junction of Nos. 57 and 59.
These houses are associated with former fishermen's homes on this road and contribute to the historical character of the area. The interior has not been inspected.
