Description

No. 76 Shellfield Road is a house, probably built around 1800 and altered over time. It features white painted render, likely over brick, with a slate roof that probably replaced an original thatch. The house is a single-storey structure with a two-unit plan.

The exterior has a two-window range and a central gabled porch, which is flanked by three-light casement windows. The gables have raised copings, and there is a gable chimney on the right side, which is shared with the adjoining house, No. 74. To the left, No. 78 is adjacent.

Although the interior was not inspected, this house is part of a group of similar houses on Shellfield Road, all of which have been altered but still represent the pre-industrial character of the area.
