Description

Shellcott is a house, likely dating to around 1800, and subsequently altered. It is constructed of white painted scored render, probably over brick, with a slate roof and a brick chimney. The house has a single-depth, two-unit plan.

The exterior is single-storied with a two-window front. Both windows are small-paned, 20th-century top-hung casements; the left window is a bow window, and a doorway is located between the windows. A gable chimney is situated on the left. The interior was not inspected.

Shellcott forms part of a group of similar houses along Shellfield Road. While all have been altered, they collectively represent the pre-industrial character of the surrounding area.
