Description

Kingfisher Cottage is a house located on Shellfield Road in Southport, likely built in the late 18th century and altered over time. The cottage features white painted render, which is probably applied to brick, and has a slate roof. It has a single-depth, three-unit plan and is a single-storey structure with a three-window range. The windows are 20th-century two-light casements. There is a small gabled porch situated between the second and third windows, and a small gable chimney is positioned to the right. The interior has not been inspected. Kingfisher Cottage forms a group with the adjacent No.54 and is part of a collection of similar houses on this road, all of which have been altered but still represent the pre-industrial character of the area.
