Description
The stable and coach house located at the rear of the Bold Arms Hotel is a Grade II listed building, likely dating from the early 19th century, and has been altered over time. It features white painted render on brick with sandstone dressings that are painted black, topped with a slate roof. The building has a long linear plan oriented on a north-south axis.
The exterior consists of a single storey plus attics and includes seven bays. The sixth bay has a flight of external steps leading to a loft doorway, while the other six bays feature wide round-headed arches with board doors. The first five bays form a continuous arcade supported by low piers with moulded imposts, and the arches have plain surrounds and keystones. The seventh bay matches this style. There are four circular pitching holes above the arcade and an additional one to the left of the seventh arch. The left end of the building is attached to the west wing of the Bold Arms Hotel, contributing to the overall group value of the site. The interior has not been inspected.
