Description

A pair of cottages located on Tithebarn Street, built in the later 18th century and subsequently altered. The cottages are constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a slate roof and a brick chimney. They have a double-depth plan, with each cottage being single-fronted. Each cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with one-and-a-half windows. The doorways, positioned to the left and right, feature thin rectangular lintels and board doors. The windows are 3-light casements, now 20th century replacements with top-hung operation, thin sills and lintels, and glazing bars. A 20th-century flat-roofed extension has been added to the ground floor at the rear. The cottages are included in the listing for their group value.
