Description
The Coach House at Rock House, located at Nos. 41, 45, and 45A on Parliament Street in Up Holland, is a house likely built in the late 18th century, possibly on earlier foundations, and has been altered over time. The building features a rendered exterior, likely over sandstone rubble, and is topped with stone slate roofs. It consists of two sections, both raised on a basement due to the sloping ground at the rear, with No. 41 set back on a parallel axis. Each section has two storeys above the basement and features two vertical-rectangular windows on each floor, all with raised surrounds and altered glazing. The doorway for No. 41 is located in the gable end of No. 47, close to the junction, and is accessed by stone steps leading to a raised terrace that is protected by simple wrought-iron railings. This building is included for its group value.
