Description

This is a house, likely dating from the 19th century, constructed in two phases of building. It is built of coursed squared sandstone with stone slate roofs. The building has a double-pile plan, meaning it is deep, formed by two parallel ranges. The architectural style is Jacobean.

The front of the house, facing Parliament Street, has three gabled bays, with the central bay projecting forward. It has two-and-a-half storeys plus cellars. The ground and first floors feature six-light mullion-and-transom windows, all with hood moulds. The attic has blind two-light mullioned windows. Some of these windows have stone mullions and transoms, while others have wooden replacements; the window frames are double-chamfered.

An entrance is located on the south return side of the building, which has two gabled bays. The right bay projects, and the left bay has a doorway with a pilastered architrave. Both bays include a canted bay window on the ground floor and a single window above. These windows are sash windows without glazing bars. The first-floor windows have raised sills and wedge lintels.
