Description
Spring Cottage is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the late 18th century and altered since. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a composition tile roof and features a brick chimney. It has a rectangular double-depth plan, with each original cottage being single-fronted, although there are 20th-century additions to the rear.
The low two-storey facade has two windows and a doorway at the right-hand end, along with the lintel of a former doorway at the left end. Between these, there are two three-light casements, all with large wedge lintels. On the first floor, there are two similar casements located just under the eaves, both now flanked by 20th-century pseudo shutters. A square brick chimney is positioned at the center of the ridge. The building is included for its group value.
