Description

Lynley Cottage and The Cottage are a pair of cottages likely dating from the early 18th century, and subsequently altered. They are constructed of white-painted roughcast render, with a slate roof. The cottages have a double-depth plan, with a double-fronted design for one and a single-fronted design for the other. They are two storeys high, featuring 2+1 windows. The Cottage has a doorway positioned to the right, with a board door and strap hinges, now covered by a 20th-century slate canopy. It also has two small, 2-light casement windows on each floor; the ground floor windows are segmental-headed, although the one to the left has been altered to a top-hung casement. Lynley Cottage has a doorway with an altered door and a similar slate canopy, and one unhorned 12-pane sash window on each floor. The pair are included on the heritage register primarily for their group value.
