Description
This is a barn located approximately 15 meters west of Widdows Farmhouse, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century, and now used as a garage and store. The structure is made of coursed thin sandstone rubble and coursed squared sandstone, topped with a stone slate roof. It has an L-shaped layout, consisting of a three-bay main range oriented north-south, with an outshut on the east side of the northern bay and an additional bay at the southern end.
On the east side, the wall of the main range is primarily composed of thin rubble, while the upper section features coursed squared masonry, with the southern bay constructed entirely of this material. The original central bay includes opposing waggon doorways. The outshut has an inserted garage doorway at the re-entrant, the first bay has a square-headed doorway at ground level and a loading door above, and the southern gable of the added bay features a square-headed doorway near the front corner and a circular pitching hole above. The west side, facing the road, is entirely made of coursed squared masonry and has two slit breathers on either side of the waggon doorway.
